Here at ABC we have many opportunities to pray together. On Sundays and in Home Groups prayer is a key element. More than Pretty Pictures
offers a chance to pray and reflect in a creative way. Each month, on the last Saturday, we hold a prayer breakfast to pray for the
coming month in our church life.
There is a danger that "meetings to pray together" can easily become "meetings to talk about praying together". I have been to many prayer meetings over the years that have been 50 minutes of chat followed by 5 minutes of quick prayer.
But despite that risk I do want to use part of the hours of prayer to explore issues around prayer and, hopefully, to deepen our prayers as a result.
David.
Prayer has always been a key feature of Church life.
Although Christians can — and should — pray on their own, there is
something quite powerful about gathering together to pray.
Prayer Meetings
We hold two "hours of prayer"
each month, on the second and fourth Wednesday evenings from 7:45pm to 8:45pm and the last Saturday of the month at 8:30am in 35 Ock
Street.
These meetings provide a varied programme of prayer, reflection and insight.
