When the service was over… the horses went round and round….

Cake. Very good cake.

Yesterday at the 35 Ock Street café, I had this cake as a splendid dessert after a most warming bowl of mixed vegetable soup. Clearly the country’s best bakers are not part of the Great British Bake Off, but are actually supplying the cakes to the café. Brilliant!

35 Ock St – 20 years.

This coming Saturday, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the opening of 35 Ock Street, our volunteer-run community meeting place and café. From 10.30am to 4pm there will be refreshments and a soup lunch to enjoy, people to meet, and displays about the centre’s work to browse. Riding or Striding… on a very wet day.

As part of the nationwide heritage weekend, the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust organised a “Ride and Stride” event encouraging participants to visit as many of the county’s Churches as possible during the day. This is an annual activity, but despite the decidedly wet weather this year, our Church was visited by a good number of hardy cyclists.
